The Highland Cinema can be hired as a complete facility, or as separate areas.
With two bespoke cinema theatres and a fully equipped café bar all wired with extensive audio/visual technology and lighting, the Highland Cinema is the perfect location for many types of fun and interesting events, from birthdays and anniversaries, to festivals, weddings, product launches, business presentations, corporate events and more. Our expert kitchen and bar staff are also on hand to help develop special menu offerings depending on your requirements.
The cinema can be hired as a complete facility, or as separate areas, e.g. Screen 1, Screen 2, or the café bar. Bookings should be made at least 6-8 weeks ahead of your date.
Café Bar
Costs for booking the café bar are available on request and through discussion with you, to determine your specific requirements. Options range from reserving a table for those attending a private showing, to hiring the entire café bar with a custom menu and music.
Screen Hire Pricing
Screens – private and commercial use
The minimum rental period is two hours, thereafter in 30 minute increments, and must be timed to fit in with our other scheduled screenings of that day (times available will be advised depending on the date you request).
Peak times (Mon-Fri 5pm-10pm, weekends and bank holidays after 12pm).
Screen 1: £150 / hour
Screen 2: £100 / hour
Off peak times (Mon-Fri 10:30am – 5pm).
Screen 1: £100 / hour
Screen 2: £75 / hour
Film / licensing charges
Under copyright law, any screening of a film to a group of people requires licensing, regardless of whether they are a paying audience or not. Pricing quoted above is for presentations, video gaming parties or screenings of films that you hold the license to yourself. This will usually be your own work or footage that you have permission from the license holder to show.
If you wish to view a commercially available film, there are various options with different charges:
Official cinema format (DCP) film (best quality): Priced by film – usually between £85 – £180. As a commercial cinema, we are required to always use a DCP where available first, rather than Blu-Ray or DVD.
Guest supplied commercially bought Blu-Ray or DVD: £85 +VAT license fee.
Film already showing at the Highland Cinema: As per above screen rental costs, plus £5 / person (to cover our costs to distribution company).
Please note – not all films are licensable for public / private showings, even if you supply the Blu-Ray or DVD. We will advise based on your title. Some films may also cost more than the stated range to acquire in DCP format. We will always confirm this cost with you before booking the title.
Education, charity and community groups
Discounts may be made available to charities, community and education groups at our discretion – please get in touch to discuss your specific requirements.

Terms & Conditions
• All prices exclude VAT.
• The minimum rental period is two hours, thereafter in 30 minute increments.
• Bookings should be made at least 6-8 weeks ahead of your date. We may take shorter notice bookings at our discretion, but rarely with less than ten days notice, due to our advance scheduling.
• The hire charge includes the services of our projection room and IT / audio visual support.
• Gaming parties must bring their own console.
• The hire period starts when the paying guest arrives, and ends when they and all their guests leave.
• Payment terms: A non-refundable deposit equivalent to one hour’s rent for the time reserved on receipt of invoice, with the balance to be paid in full four weeks before the event. If the balance is not received when due, we will have to cancel the booking, and the deposit will be forfeit.
• A returnable cleaning / damages deposit of £100 is payable with the invoice and will be returned within seven days of the event, less any charges incurred.
• All events and bookings are subject to availability of our screens and working around our regularly schedule commitments.
• We reserve the right to refuse a private hire request on any reasonable grounds.
