SAILM NAN DAOINE (Psalms of the People) is a moving and immersive road trip documentary that journeys through Scotland and Ireland to explore the thousand-year old living tradition of Gaelic psalm singing, uncovering the power of community, family and the resilience needed to keep a language alive. <div><br></div><div>Directed by Jack Archer, the film follows musician and sound designer Rob MacNeacail as he travels across landscapes rich in history, language and song. </div><div><br></div><div>Beginning in the Scottish Borders and moving through the Western Isles, Belfast and County Cork, Rob’s journey becomes both a personal and cultural exploration. Along the way, he encounters communities keeping this ancient musical practice alive, uncovering how psalm singing continues to shape identity, belonging and collective memory. </div><div><br></div><div>Blending field recordings, live encounters and an evocative original soundtrack, the film weaves together past and present in unexpected ways.
