An epic account of the first ever ascent of one of the last challenges of the Himalayas – Nanga Parbat's 8,126m Mazeno Ridge – achieved in the Summer of 2012 by Alexander (Sandy) Allan and Rick Allen. In this fantastic talk, Sandy will speak about the vital training and experience they first gained in Scotland, the Alps and other Himalayan mountains that allowed them to take on and achieve this monumental task. A qualified IFMGA Mountain Guide and Rope Access Specialist, Sandy has an impressive resume that includes notable ascents throughout Europe, the Himalayas and Karakoram. For their first ascent of the Mazeno Ridge, Sandy and his climbing partner Rick Allen were awarded the prestigious Piolet d’Or in 2013.
