Follow a group of canyoneers over a span of two years, as they embark on a journey of exploration into the hidden corners of the Scottish Highlands, in this first canyoning documentary made in the UK. In The Footsteps Of Banryu (10 mins) Inspired by Banryu, the monk who first summited Japan’s iconic Mount Yari, this film follows four runners on an ambitious fastpacking journey through the heart of the Japanese Alps, traversing the dramatic Daikiretto Ridge and culminating in a fastest known time (FKT) attempt on Yake-Dake. Songs and Flowers (28 mins) Seven years after her brother's death, Karina Carsolio returns to their shared dream: to climb Bolivia's highest mountains in the fastest possible way. Together with Hillary Gerardi, her new partner, she will strive to break records while facing the mountain as a mirror of grief, closure, and spiritual reunion. The Future of Climbing (52 mins) With the rise in the number of private climbing gyms and climbing’s inclusion in the Olympics, this rapidly changing sport now faces a truly unique dilemma: the increase in popularity of indoor climbing gyms alongside the current threat of closures for outdoor climbing areas all over the world. Starring Cédric Lachat, this documentary film explores the evolution of climbing and the legacy left for future generations. A Baffin Vacation, Love on Ice (26 mins) Join adventures Erik and Sarah on yet another epic Baffin Vacation as they kite ski north along the remote coastline of Baffin. Over their 69 day holiday they ski mountains, climb an epic big wall, and cross a glacier in search of new rivers to white water kayak. At the end of this evening, all attendees will be invited to vote for their favourite film to determine the FWMF 2026 PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD! www.mountainfestival.co.ukPT3H20MPGFWMF26 International Film Night"FWMF26 International Film Night"FWMF, FWMF26
