FWMF25 International Film Night Redux

One more chance to see the very best international film entrants to the Fort William Mountain Festival 2025, with some amazing stories and adventures from all over the world! 'Capsized' Some people dream of summiting the highest peaks, of visiting a remote island, of being the fastest to navigate a route. But not Emily. Emily dreams of esoteric adventure, and of dragging a canoe across a bog. Enlisting her friend Lisa to join her, the pair set off to the Isle of Lewis, to navigate its intricate system of lochs. But before any trip comes the prep, and part of that means finding the right kit. For Emily, this can be a tough adventure in and of itself. 'Finding Bo'
A short documentary film exploring the relationship between human and wildlife, through the photography lens of Scottish photographer Karen Miller. We discover Karen's reasons for photography, how she found herself in the Scottish Highlands, and her love for all animals, particularly mountain hares. 'George' Equal parts beautiful, inspiring and heartbreaking, Jacob Tonkin, a Cumbrian fellrunner, shares his incredible story of coming to terms with a debilitating disease, the depression that followed, and how his incredible bond with his dog, George, may have saved his life. This, however, is only half of the story... 'Unplugged' A snowboard freeride segment featuring Liam Rivera, shot during the 23/24 season between Freeride World Tour stops. Filmed in black and white to highlight the beauty of the mountains and Liam's lines, this project is also edited in RAW format, with no music — only the ambient sounds captured on location. 'Jamrock'
The remarkable journey of Kai Lightner, a 12-time national climbing champion and the visionary founder of ‘Climb for Change.’ Against the backdrop of Jamaica, renowned for its vibrant culture but not traditionally associated with rock climbing, Kai embarks on a transformative mission. 'Dolore'
A pair of professional snowboard athletes embark on a quest driven by curiosity and a longing for new challenges – their very first high-alpine split board tour. Documented through photography and film, their extraordinary adventure unfolds against the backdrop of breathtaking landscapes and unexpected obstacles, showcasing their resilience and determination. What sets this journey apart is the fact that both protagonists, equipped with prosthetic legs, redefine the limits of adventure and inspire by conquering not only nature's challenges but also their own. 'Big Water Theory' Follow kayak superstar Nouria Newman and two childhood friends, as they navigate one of the world’s most challenging sections of whitewater: the Rondu Gorge of the Indus River in Pakistan. ‘Big Water Theory’ is a compelling exploration of human spirit and the relentless pursuit of adventure. It offers a powerful and inspiring, yet highly detailed and informative look at the world of extreme kayaking. www.mountainfestival.co.ukPT2H40MPG2025-02-15FWMF25 International Film Night Redux"FWMF25 International Film Night Redux"FWFM, FWMF25
