Apocalypse Now: The Final Cut
“I love the smell of napalm in the morning.” A special Film Club showing of Francis Ford Coppola’s monumental 1979 war epic ‘Apocalypse Now: The Final Cut’, starring Martin Sheen, Robert Duvall and Marlon Brando.
At the height of the Vietnam war, Captain Benjamin Willard is sent on a dangerous mission that, officially, "does not exist, nor will it ever exist." His goal is to locate – and eliminate – a mysterious Green Beret Colonel named Walter Kurtz, who has been leading his personal army on illegal guerrilla missions into enemy territory. As Willard journeys deeper into the war-torn landscape, he encounters the horrors, chaos and moral ambiguity of combat, confronting both external and internal darkness.
An extraordinary, truly epic and often surreal and hallucinatory exploration of war, power and the human capacity for destruction.
