A special Film Club showing of Stanley Kubrick’s astonishing, infamous and disturbing dystopian 1971 crime film, based on Anthony Burgess’s 1962 novel of the same name. Remastered in 4K. The adventures of a young man who loves a bit of the old ultra-violence, goes to jail, gets brain washed and comes out cured – or does he? In a futuristic welfare state, Alex (Malcolm McDowell), a vicious young hoodlum, sleeps all day and spends his nights roaming the city with his droogs (friends), assaulting innocent people in the streets and in their homes. Finally captured by the police, Alex undergoes rehabilitation in the form of aversion therapy as brutal and horrifying as any of his offences. Film Club titles start on time, with no adverts beforehand. All over 18 welcome - Film Club is not exclusive or membership based. ‘A Clockwork Orange’ is rated 18.
